50th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 3-4, 2026

Founded as one of the first programs in California to offer bachelor's, master's, and PhD degrees in biomedical engineering, the BME department has spent five decades turning engineering ideas into patient care — from the world's first FDA-approved artificial retina to the first brain implant shown to restore memory function.

Main daytime programming will be held in USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience (MCB).

The 50th Anniversary Celebration Reception on Sept. 3rd will be held at USC Town & Gown.
