Progressive Degree Programs in Biomedical Engineering

Department of Biomedical Engineering PDP Guide

Students participating in the PDP will receive a reduction in the total unit requirement for the Master’s of Biomedical Engineering. The M.S. BME will change from 28 to 19 units. The M.S. MDDE will be reduced from 30 to 22 units and the M.S. MIII program will change from 29 to 22 units. In addition, PDP students may be allowed to waive BME 501 and BME 502, providing a greater range of freedom in selecting their masters-level courses.

MS Biomedical Engineering

Students in the MS BME PDP must complete at least 19 units at the 500-level and above to be applied to their graduate degree. They should choose one “theme” from the following list and take the listed courses to complete their Master’s degree. Students must be advised every semester prior to registration in order to receive departmental clearance for courses and have their advising hold lifted.

  • Biomechanics

    Required Core Courses:
