Dr. Qifa Zhou was recently promoted to Research Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering. Qifa moved to USC from Penn State University with Prof. Kirk Shung in the Fall of 2002. Prior to his appointment as Research Assistant Professor of BME here, he was a Research Associate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Penn State University. Previously, Qifa was also an Associate Professor and Director of the Material Research Laboratory at Zhongshan University in China. His expertise is in the development of novel processes that employ new materials for the fabrication of high frequency ultrasonic transducers. He is a core investigator in the NIH-funded Medical Ultrasonic Transducer Technology Resource at USC (P.I.: Kirk Shung). He is also currently the Principal Investigator on the USC portion of 3 NIH SBIR grants.
