ERV = Expiratory Reserve Volume
ERV stands for Expiratory Reserve Volume

Let's say you've just exhaled a normal breath (you've exhaled your normal
Tidal Volume). Now, your ERV is the amount of air you can still exhale
until you just can't exhale no more.

As illustrated in the figure below, it represents the amount of air
you are still able to exhale after you have already expired a normal
breath.
