Hyung Ham Kim received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Daejeon, Korea in 1993, his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea in 1995 and his M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA in 2006. He served as the manager of the Probe Department at Medison, a medical ultrasound system manufacturer in Seoul, Korea for 10 years. His responsibilities included management of research and development projects of medical ultrasound transducers, OEM partnership management with transducer manufacturers and strategic decision for ultrasound transducer business. He has also served as the technical expert and the delegation of Korea at the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee (TC) 87: Ultrasonics Meeting 1999 (Seattle, WA) and 2001 (London, UK). He has reviewed a series of draft standards related to medical ultrasound in IEC TC87 and voted for IEC TC87 Korea Committee as a participating member. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Southern California. His current research interests include the design and fabrication of high frequency annular array and linear array transducers for medical imaging applications and acoustic output measurement for high frequency transducers. Mr. Kim is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). |
