Resource Center for Medical Ultrasonic Transducer Technology

The Ultrasonic Transducer Resource Center

Associated with the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, the UTRC is a multidisciplinary center devoted to research and training in medical ultrasonic transducer engineering.  As such, we are dedicated to the design, modeling, fabrication and testing of high-frequency ultrasonic transducers and arrays, and supporting electronics.

Pushing the Acoustic Envelope

Headed by BME Professor K. Kirk Shung and funded by a $5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Ultrasonic Transducer Resource Center (UTRC) is the only lab of its kind in the country.
